Modern production equipment such as 3D printers and laser cutters enable completely new ways to implement your own ideas.
We want to make these new technologies available to individuals who lack the knowledge, motivation or financial resources to maintain such equipment on their own. We provide you with a well-equipped laboratory where you have unbounded possibilities as a member. The nicest thing about the FabLab though is the exchange betweeen our members which happens in terms of weekly open evenings and recurrent workshops. No matter what prior knowledge you have or subject you’re in you will find quite reliable people who share your interests and feel like supporting you with your ideas.
The FabLab Neckar-Alb features handicraft enthusiasts, technology geeks and media artists. As supporters of cultural events we form an important part of Tübingen’s cultural life. The link between art and technology is important to us.

The FabLab idea does not originate from us. We see ourselves as part of an international movement and network with other FabLabs all over the world.
A fab lab (fabrication laboratory) is a small-scale workshop offering (personal) digital fabrication.
A fab lab is generally equipped with an array of flexible computer-controlled tools that cover several different length scales and various materials, with the aim to make “almost anything”.
This includes technology-enabled products generally perceived as limited to mass production.
